What is a front-line health & social care worker?
There are two types of health & social care worker in Northern Ireland:
- Frontline: provide health-related or social care services in acute HSC hospitals, mental health hospitals, community-based services, to individuals in their own home, in care homes or other long-term care facilities such as ambulance care, that are in direct contact with patients.
- Non-frontline: any member of staff directly involved in the day-to-day running of the organisation and its infrastructure but not involved in direct patient care.
